Running
Make sure you put your trainers in your case because the city has a wide variety of running trails where you can enjoy your favourite sport. In parks, on avenues and in other open-air spaces, Barcelona offers sport circuits that are perfect for running. There are routes covering distances between 900 and 2,600 m in different districts. The circuits in the Parc Joan Miró, Parc del Clot and Parc de la Ciutadella and at Montjuïc Castle, make the most of the paths in these green spaces to create routes away from motor vehicles. The Passeig Marítim circuit goes along the seafront so you can feel the sea breeze as you run. And the urban circuits of Can Dragó, Diagonal-Cervantes, Diagonal-Sant Martí, Aragó-Guipúscoa and Rambla Prim go along broad streets and avenues that provide great running conditions.
The city's green lungs are an excellent option for running among natural scenery with city views, like the ones from Montjuïc hill and the Parc de Collserola. You can get to Montjuïc from the neighbourhood of Poble Sec. The trails on Montjuïc are perfect for people who enjoy running on different gradients and types of terrain. You'll run through gardens, iconic spots and along viewing points. At the Parc Natural de Collserola a whole host of different itineraries await along forest trails on hillsides, past reservoirs and on different levels of terrain. And the Carretera de les Aigües, which is 10km long, has been specially laid out for running, walking or cycling.
