Vall de Núria
The Vall de Núria ski and mountain resort stands 2,000 m above sea level in the county of Ripollès. This small, unique, and car-free valley is surrounded by peaks standing almost 3,000 m high and is home to the iconic shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
Vall de Núria is certainly is the most welcoming, family-friendly resort in the Catalan Pyrenees, and offers a great choice of things to do in the heart of nature. The peaceful resort is only accessible by the rack railway – which opened in 1931 and covers a 2.5 kilometre route in 40 minutes over an incline of more than 1,000 m – meaning a peaceful atmosphere free from the bustle of the busier resorts is guaranteed.
The valley is also the gateway to the Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser Natural Park, which has a wealth of flora and fauna.
