Three days in Barcelona
DAY 1
The Barcelona Card, which combines free travel on public transport with discounts and free admission at the city's unique attractions, will be the best ally for your visit. We suggest you drop by any tourist information office where they'll tell you how it works and you'll be able to buy one!
Once you have activated you card, you can start exploring the city's oldest quarter with the Barcelona Walking Tours Gòtic, a fascinating walking tour of the city's impressive Gothic legacy. After the tour, you can continue visiting and admiring the city's architectural gems, if you head for the Passeig de Gràcia and visit Gaudí's Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. You can also enjoy browsing the shop windows on the avenue, which is like an open-air shopping centre. If you like, you can top up your energy levels at one of the tapas bars in the area. Afterwards, you can continue as far as the Spotify Camp Nou Stadium and visit the Museu del FC Barcelona, at the home of one of the best teams in the world. To round off the day, what about a trip to Tibidabo? You can stop off at the spectacular science museum, Museu de la Ciència Cosmocaixa, and from the top of Tibidabo, where you'll find the amusement park, you'll be able to enjoy some of the finest panoramic views of Barcelona. The neighbourhood of Tibidabo, in the district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, is a great place to have dinner while you look down on the city below.
DAY 2
You can make use of your Barcelona Card and ride on the Funicular to explore Barcelona's other hill: Montjuïc. Here you can visit the Castell de Montjuïc, the Fundació Miró, the Jardí Botànic de Barcelona, the Olympic Ring and it's Museu Olímpic i de l'Esport Joan A. Samaranch, the Poble Espanyol, a place full of charm, the Pavelló Mies van der Rohe, and the impressive Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. At lunchtime, you can make your way to Plaça Espanya and the former bullring, Las Arenas, which has now been transformed into a shopping complex. It has an observation deck with 360º panoramic views of the city and a great choice of restaurants.
In the afternoon, you can keep using your card and take advantage of the great deals it offers, like a ride in the lift to the top of the Columbus Monument where you can enjoy magnificent views of Barcelona and the famous Rambla. Before dinner, we recommend you hire a bike and continue to explore the old harbour, the Port Vell, and seafront , until you reach the Olympic Marina, where you'll be captivated by the range of food on offer and the sea breeze.
DAY 3
Start the day discovering the modernista gems dotted around the city. Visit the Palau de la Música Catalana and be amazed at the sculptures, stained-glass windows and floral motifs inside. After your visit, use your Barcelona Card and take public transport to Gaudí's masterpiece, the Sagrada Família. Nearby, you'll find the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, one of the most important art nouveau complexes in Europe. Afterwards, you can make your way to the neighbourhood of Gràcia and the Casa Vicens, Gaudí's first major building. Your itinerary continues with a visit to Park Güell, where you'll be able to spend an idyllic afternoon strolling through this magic place designed by Gaudí. From the park, you can walk down to the neighbourhood of Gràcia, with its narrow streets, squares and shops which will provide the perfect end to your activity-packed visit to Barcelona.
